You are probably pregnant and thinking about support during your birth and maybe after. Doulas are there to mother the mother, to support them in whatever choices they make. Research has shown that hiring a doula can cut chances of medical interventions such as inductions, epidurals, instrumental births and caesareans by almost half. Women are less likely to request pain relief, tend to have shorter labours and have a more positive outlook of their birthing experience.
My name is Gill I live in Tunbridge Wells. I have two children, my son was born in 1999. He came nearly four weeks early but I was still lucky enough to have a positive birth experience. Two years later I had an amazing water birth with my daughter Molly. In 2004 I was honoured to be a birth partner for a close friend and that confirmed supporting a woman throughout giving birth and beyond was something I felt very passionate about. I trained with Nurturing Birth in November 2011, I am a recognised Postnatal Doula and Birth Doula with Doula UK.
I have many years of experience in all types of birth and postnatal care.
I love being a doula!
